Moving Mountains Art show
Lewisham College are holding a week long exhibition
of the final major project work from students of our BTEC and
Foundation Diploma Art and Design courses.
Tanya Paget, Curriculum Manager for Visual Art, Fashion &
Interactive Media said:
"The Visual Art and Fashion exhibitions are a fantastic opportunity
to come and see some of the contemporary artists and designers of
the future. There is a broad range of work from animation and
graphic design, to sculpture and photography with the Fashion
static show offering a fantastic opportunity to look at the
sketches of the designers and see the quality of the collections up
close"
17 students received awards at an exclusive presentation at the
private view evening on Thursday 29 June. Standards were very high
this year and the competition close.
Tanya went on to say, "We are so proud to have feedback from HE
staff and students at our private view last night that our learners
work would not look out of place in one of their final shows and
some of our students are very please to already have made
sales.
"I am particularly excited to see some of the digital media
concept work from our new digital courses on display and very
pleased with the success of our first year running a 'low light'
room allowing art works that have lighting integral to them to
truly shine!"
95% of Lewisham College Foundation students are progressing on to a
range of Higher Education courses including Goldsmiths, Central
Saint Martin's and Kingston.
The main exhibition is open from Friday 27 June - Thursday 30th
10.00 am to 4.00 p.m.
