Former Student Wins MOBO Award
Former Lewisham College Music student Shaney Forbes has won a
MOBO award.
Drummer Shaney's band Empirical won Best Jazz Act at the 15th
MOBO Awards ceremony which took place late last year.
Head of Creative Industries Larry Newman, who used to teach
Shaney, said: "Shaney is an outstanding drummer and musician and
we're delighted he has won this award. His achievement is a great
inspiration for our current crop of super talented students such as
drummer and bass player Chris Chambers, currently on the cover of
The LC magazine."
