Fire & Ice steams up the Phoenix

Last month, Hair & Beauty students wowed a packed Phoenix
restaurant for Fire & Ice, the department's first-ever show.
Over 200 people were in attendance, enjoying complimentary
champagne and canapés in a bold, inviting atmosphere while
watching students competing for the most creative hair and
make-up designs. Fitting the theme of the evening, models strutted
down the catwalk in all shades of bright, vibrant reds and cool,
soothing blues, featuring stunning designs by Hair and Beauty
learners. Beauticians from local salons and a representative from
comestics and hair company Wella were on hand to judge the
contestants.
First prize was won by Billie Oluwa for Beauty
and Huyen Thi Do for Hair and over £600 was raised to send students
to Paris as guests for an event hosted by Wella. Laura Golong,
Salon Operations Assistant, said, "It was awesome! I was so pleased
and proud of all of our hair and beauty learners. It was a
fantastic occasion and I congratulate the learners on their hard
work and thank everyone for attending and donating to help our
learners go on a fantastic trip."
Billie Oluwa, Beauty learner and first prize winner, said, "I
was so nervous before the show! It feels great to have won and I'm
really proud of my effort."
