Drama students to remember Holocaust

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day around the United Kingdom and
Level 2 Drama students, led by tutor Sam Punnett, will be bringing
their skills to the stage to commemorate the occasion. Following up
on their performance of a Verbatim piece on the London riots, the
students will be working with local schoolchildren and survivors of
genocide on a production that seeks to educate and instil the
values of tolerance and respect.
They will be helped by Mark Curtis of Small Nose Productions.
"This is a family production that will piece together the horrific
facts of genocide without being graphic. It will seek to ask
questions why - why is this important? - but it's not about scoring
political points. We'll be working with about 130 local
schoolchildren, who will produce their own vignettes along with
Lewisham College's students."
The performance will be Sunday, 29 January, at Catford
Broadway Theatre at 3 pm. Ticket proceeds will go to the
Aegis Trust to prevent genocide.
