Drama Students Perform Jesus Christ Superstar
Lewisham College Performing Arts students are this month taking
on a musical of biblical proportions.
The first year students will be taking to the College's
Tressillian Theatre stage on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 March 2011
with their own take on Jesus Christ Superstar.
Performing Arts tutor John Cooper said: "Jesus Christ Superstar
is a rock opera, all about the last week of Jesus' life. It's not
full of religious doctrine, it's suitable for believers and non
believers alike.
"The action is set against the clamour for public reform,
frightened politicians and the one man's responsibility to do the
right thing. It's an ancient story with modern resonance."
Performances will be at 3pm and 7pm. Tickets for the evening
show will be £3 on the door.
