Celebrating Vinvolved

This spring the College celebrated the end of the Vinvolved
project which has seen hundreds of students do thousands of hours
of voluntary work.
Students from across the College were presented with V50
certificates recognising over 50 hours of voluntary work and
Students' Union President Mariam Ohiani paid tribute to the role
volunteering has played in her life.
Over the three years that the Vinvolved scheme has run, students
and staff have volunteered within the College and the local
community raising thousands of pounds for a variety of charities
including Children in Need, Every Child, Comic Relief and Teenage
Cancer Trust.
Assistant Principal Dith Banbury said: "Volunteering has a long
history at Lewisham College and our students have made a really
valuable contribution. The Vinvolved project has demonstrated just
what students and staff can achieve with time, effort and a bit of
free food!"
