Looking for an alternative to A levels?
A levels aren't for everyone. At Lewisham College, we offer real
alternatives to A levels which can lead to either university or
employment. Don't just take our word for it; hear from some of our
current and former students on why College was the right option for
them...
Why I Chose College...

Idayat Omodele Adedoyin
Former Health and Social Care student
Before coming to Lewisham College I was doing A levels at sixth
form and I wasn't enjoying them because I'm better at doing
coursework than exams. Changing my course to something which
focused on my strengths felt good. At College you learn in the way
that suits you best.
Idayat is now studying Applied Nursing and Social Work at
Sheffield Hallam University.

David Short
Fashion student
I knew I didn't want to do A levels and that I wanted to do
Fashion, so that's why I came to Lewisham College. Doing a BTEC's
equivalent to 3 A levels anyway: it's the same thing under a
different name, but it's more hands on. I love it.
David is continuing his studies in Fashion at Lewisham
College.

Sarah Caddock
Former Technical Theatre student
I was doing my A levels prior to coming to Lewisham College, but
I really wasn't enjoying the work. So I decided to leave and come
to College to study theatre - something I loved - instead.
Sarah is now studying Stage Management and Technical Theatre
at Mount View Academy of Theatre Arts.

James O'Connell
Former Performing Engineering Operations student
I went to sixth form for a year but found that it wasn't for me.
College was something I enjoyed a lot more than school: although
there's an academic side, it was much more hands on and work
based.
James is now an apprentice with Right Document
Solutions.
