In April 2006, Lewisham College received an overall grade of ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted.
This was the highest rating for any London college and puts us
second in the entire country.
Our reputation for innovation and excellence was formally
recognised when we were first awarded Beacon Status in 1999. We now
have four Beacon awards.
We're recognised as one of the most employer-responsive colleges in
the country.
In December 2007, Lewisham College was one of only three London
colleges to be awarded The Training Quality Standard, recently
introduced by the Learning and Skills Council.
After receiving a cross-college assessment in employer
responsiveness, the College has been awarded the new standard,
established to recognise training providers and colleges who can
demonstrate responsiveness to business needs and excellence in
delivering training.
The new standard will provide employers with a credible
employer-endorsed quality mark. As part of the award, the College
has also received additional accreditation for vocational
excellence in Information and Communication Technologies. Our
achievements have been recognised through re-accreditation of
Charter Mark, Investors in Careers and Investors in People. We have
also been accredited by the Learning and Skills Council London East
as the most successful Employer Training College in their area.
